From October 22 to 24, 2008, the annual German Logistics Congress took place in Berlin. About 300 undertakings from Germany and the rest of Europe, inclusive of 3PL service providers, logistics facility suppliers, logistics equipment manufacturers, logistics software developers and logistics consultants, participated in the exhibition, more than 100 thousand people looking around. A large cocktail party for 5000 people was held on the evening of the opening day. The 25th congress was larger than ever. German logistics represents the highest level of the industry in the world, and logistics is among backbones of Germany’s economy.
Parchim International Airport, together with its cooperative partner Goodman Group, made a debut of its latest designed Parchim International Airport Bonded Logistics Park and Bonded Industrial Park, which received high praise from customers, business players and governmental officials from the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and officials from Hamburg and Rostock.
Another Chinese entity exhibiting at the congress, Yangpu Bonded Port from Hainan province, was especially eye catching. At its introduction meeting at 10 a.m. on Oct. 23rd, the English introduction given by Vice Governor Mr. Jiang Sixian aroused great interest among businesses and media, who raised numerous questions.
During the congress, Parchim International Airport reached intent of cooperation with many logistics enterprises. It had an extensive communication with Yangpu Bonded Port and planned to visit there upon invitation, discussing ways of cooperation between the two. Further, Parchim International Airport will attend the International Logistics Expo in Nanjing from Nov. 19th-21th, together with its partners Goodman Group, Nanjing Hi-Tech Zone and Ningxia Department of Commerce, to display the innovative concept of “OCIT & ICOT” (Outside Customs, Inside Territory & Inside Customs, Outside Territory)----a new mode of interaction of bonded logistics and processing developed by the trio.
