On September 30, 2008 at 21:35 local time, China Southern Airlines (CZ), the largest airline in China, has its flight landed at Parchim International Airport (PIA) for the second time, which was also its second landing in Germany. Following Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg, Germany became CZ’s the 4th destination in Europe. The flight departed full-loaded from Zhengzhou International Airport, flew directly to PIA, and then returned to Shenzhen, China.
MK Airlines, registered in Britain, and the largest cargo airline operating in Africa and CIS, has now made PIA its base. Since its inaugural flight at PIA on September 24th last year, it has been operating 3-5 flights weekly from Zhengzhou, Urumchi and Shanghai respectively. Further, it has entered into an agreement to build hangars and ground maintenance facilities for B747 in PIA, which will also provide service for other airlines.
